The second issue for BOOM!Studios’ Fionna & Cake comic went to second printing! Here’s the cover I drew for it. You can nab yourself a copy from your local comic book store or you can order one from their website here.

We’re currently four issues in on this 6-part mini series! Natasha Allegri’s comic has been rotting my teeth, it’s so cute. I can’t recommend it enough.

So I was riffing with my friend Pommerose after seeing a tumblr post with ~Utena style~ outfits for Kaworu and Shinji, and we basically made a really gross version of Utena/Eva where Kaworu is Shinji’s Rose Bride.

Evangelion has some of the most intense marketing campaigns for an animated franchise I’ve seen. Gainax/Khara recently collaborated with K-SWISS for character-specific foot wear. It’s the cutest thing ever.

Here’s my homage to their tactics. I love fashion, and I love Evangelion, SO.

I’m a total sucker for Adventure Time fanart in all its myriad forms. There’s something infectious about Pendelton Ward’s characters that seems to bring out the most joyful elements of professional and amateur artists alike. BOOM! Studios graphic designer Stephanie Gonzaga gets to work with Adventure Time in a professional capacity, drawing the covers for the upcoming Adventure Time original graphic novel (written by Girls with Slingshots creator Danielle Corsetto) and the second print edition of Fionna and Cake. But that doesn’t mean that Gonzaga doesn’t have plenty of fun with the characters on her own time.

I woke up yesterday morning to this article and was completely floored by it. I’m really honored! Thank you for the shout out, Comics Alliance!

Aw, man. Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake by Natasha Allegri and from BOOM! Studios is just too, too good. The fresh, first issue is a smash and No. 2 is right around the corner. Natasha wrote and drew the comic’s guts with Noelle Stevenson’s handling back-up story. Of course, BOOM! corralled a bevy of wonderful cover artists for the various variants, including Stephanie Gonzaga’s, above. For a typically positive review, read Jennifer Cheng’s take over on Comic Book Resources:

Here’s a companion piece to the Marceline and Princess Bubblegum piece I did earlier this week! I was a dumb butt and colored it in RGB so when I converted to CMYK for print, Princess Bubblegum’s hair faded! So sad — I love the original vibrant pink.

I’m sure by now tumblr-verse has heard about Donny Glover voicing Marshall Lee in the new Adventure Time genderswap episode! I can’t wait to hear NPH and Mr. Glover engaging in some malarky together with Lumpy Space Prince rolling his eyes in the sidelines.

Lady Gaga and Kpop pretty much sums up my playlist at the moment.

I inked using the stumpy brush from here. I set the opacity and flow to 100% and switch from Multiply to Normal. It actually helps me ink faster because all the nuances from the bristles look so natural I don’t mind a few odd lines here and there as opposed to using a regular smooth brush where one hair out of line drives me insane.
